Making the decision to participate in the Global Enterprise Technology Immersion Experience (GET IE) has undoubtedly been the best decision I have made in my collegiate career. Before applying, I thought to myself “what can I actually bring to the table to a huge corporation like JPMC, Ernst & Young, or GE?”
Soon enough I realized that it’s not only about what you can do and what you know. Participating in the GET IE is about having the willingness to learn in an environment where you work on real teams with high expectations, in an effort to solve challenging technology/business issues in some of the world’s leading industries. You remove yourself from the day to day life on campus and become an integrated piece of a global corporation. Participating in a program like this equips you with skill sets that are essential in global environments, which in effect prepares to become a true asset for multinational companies at the end of your experience.
Interning through the GET IE provides each student with a unique experience. Some students occupy roles that are very technical, while others occupy roles more in the areas of project management. Each and every student comes out the GET IE having developed advanced skill sets that contribute value to their marketability as a professional after college. Having the opportunity to expand your network is also a great component of this program, as students interact with leadership at these leading companies throughout the internship.
The GET IE provides students with a tremendous opportunity to prepare for a career in Information Management/Technology. I truly encourage all to apply.
